An update made its way to Super Mario Maker for Wii U with new items, modes and features to enhance your gameplay.
The new content shown during the latest Nintendo Direct on March 3 came into effect yesterday. In addition to a “Super Expert” mode in the 100-Mario Challenge ( unlocked after clearing expert mode), there are now new features to add to levels. New obstacles include skewer that slams down in a level and a key item that can unlock doors to create new challenging levels. Creators can set pink coins over the course and when players collect them all, a key will appear.
Completing the 100-Mario Challenge on normal or super expert mode will reward players with new costumes. There are up to 3 new costumes for completing normal mode, 4 for expert, and 5 costumes for completing super expert mode.
New costumes added include the ingenious Professor E. Gadd from Luigi’s Mansion and the other lady Princess Daisy. Daisy can unlocked through the Adventures in Sarasaland Event Course. The Wolf Link and Midna amiibo that launched with Twilight Princess HD has also been incorporated in Super Mario Maker. Unlock the costume either by tapping in your Wolf Link amiibo or completing the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD event course.
Players should check Event Courses often for new levels to play.
