Nintendo is bringing the Splatoon Testfire Demo back to the Wii U for anyone who owns the console. This open demo period runs through the weekend of August 25 to August 28 between the hours of 3 and 5 p.m. PT (6 – 8 p.m. ET) each day.
This Summer Splatdown event gives you the chance to play Splatoon and experience its ‘Turf War’ multiplayer gameplay. Note, players will need an internet connection to download the demo and play during the designated hours.
This multiplayer mode pits you and three other players against an opposing team of four to cover the most territory possible with colorful ink. It’s one of the core modes of Splatoon and is the perfect introduction to what the game has to offer. During the Splatoon Testfire demo, players can try out four different weapons across two popular maps:
- Splattershot Jr.
- Splat Roller
- Splat Charger
- Saltspray Rig
- Walleye Warehouse
Unique to Splatoon, are kid/squid transformations whose goal is blasting the most colorful ink in a map. Launched in 2015 as Nintendo’s newest IP, Splatoon has sold over 4 million units worldwide. Splatoon had multiplayer collaborations with reputable companies such as Hasbro’s Transformers, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants, and Nintendo’s latest, Miitomo.
