Nintendo has their 30-second Super Bowl 2017 ad available for viewers, with an extended 90-second cut featuring other titles launching this year.
The 90-second cut includes a variety of titles from 1-2 Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, Splatoon 2, Just Dance 2017, and Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers. It additionally demonstrates a number of ways the Nintendo Switch is playable as an innovative home/handheld device through presenting it in different scenarios from a classroom to a laundromat. The Nintendo Switch will be launching on March 3 for $299.
This ad features the highly anticipated Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch, both of which will be launching on March 3. The song featured is Believer, by Imagine Dragons which premiered worldwide this past Tuesday. Imagine Dragons has worked with Nintendo before and most recently performed at the Game Awards in 2014, closing the show with a medley from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
“The most anticipated video game system and video game of the year will be seen on the biggest stage of the year,” said Nicolas Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Vice President of Marketing. “Nintendo Switch will change how, when and where people play games. It’s only fitting that we’re changing how, when and where we advertise those games.”
According to Nintendo, this Super Bowl ad will air during the fourth quarter of the game and will be their first ad during the Super Bowl ad. Super Bowl 51 kicks off 6:30pm ET this Sunday, February 5.
