On Friday, March 3, Nintendo will be transforming Madison Square Park into a living room inspired space for fans to try out the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo mascots Mario and Luigi will also be available for photo opportunities, and Nintendo representatives will be on hand for questions and demos for a memorable experience.
This revolutionary new video game system is the hybrid of a home console and a portable handheld, allowing for a unique experience and greater accessibility. Launch titles available for fans to try out include the highly anticipated Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and multiplayer 1-2-Switch. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild returns with an open world environment and new gameplay mechanics unlike previous Zelda titles. Two players can participate in over-the-top games from the Wild West Quick Draw, milking a cow, or counting with the original title 1-2-Switch.
A Nintendo shuttle bus will be transporting fans between Madison Square Park and the Nintendo New York flagship store in Rockefeller Plaza, should fans want to browse the store and pick up Nintendo memorabilia and a Nintendo Switch system, while supplies last. There are two versions available from the Gray Joy-Con and Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy-Con.
This celebration of the Switch launch will be open to the public between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm at Madison Square Park, located in the Flatiron Plaza on Broadway between 23rd and 26th street.
